If you are selling a practice in the south east area – the Apollo Veterinary Medical Hospitals staff consists of experienced professionals who each have specific skills and knowledge in their respective fields. This variety and unique expertise helps us manage veterinary hospitals effectively and efficiently.
Furthermore, every member of our executive team works in one of our veterinary offices on a daily basis, which means they are familiar with the day-to-day routine of a busy practice.

Dr. Steve Whatley, CEO & Founder
Dr. Steve Whatley, CEO & Founder
Dr. Steve Whatley is the CEO and Founder of Apollo Veterinary Medical Hospitals. He has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1998. Dr. Whatley began building a global organization of veterinary practices in 1999.
He is responsible for identifying attractive veterinary hospitals and working with lenders to ensure a win/win situation between the buyer and seller.
Dr. Whatley visits each hospital monthly to meet with the managers of the hospitals. Dr. Whatley eagerly works with the team members to be certain that each hospital is well managed.
Denise Wally, Portfolio Controller
Denise Wally, Portfolio Controller
Denise Wally has been a trusted team member serving the hospitals for the past 29 years. As Portfolio Controller she oversees the financial aspects of multiple hospitals.
Mrs. Wally’s responsibilities are to run payroll, record data, and generate reports that will deliver results. She approaches every challenge as an opportunity for growth.
Denise has called Albany, Georgia her home for almost sixty years.
Kaley Hart, Director of Marketing
Kaley Hart, Director of Marketing
As a seasoned Director of Marketing, Kaley Hart has spent the past 15 years working with our hospitals to bring more culture and engagement with our clients.
Through her creative and unique approach, she ensures growth and connection with both clients and the hospitals.
Mrs. Hart has always had a passion for people and enjoys the evolution that occurs during the process of her work.
She is originally from Kissimmee, Fl, but calls Albany, GA her home.
Rebecca Walker, Director of Inventory
Rebecca Walker, Director of Inventory
Rebecca Walker has been a motivated and enthusiastic Director of Inventory for the last 17 years. Mrs. Walker has been crucial to the success of the hospitals.
Mrs. Walker has a number of responsibilities — many of which require daily monitoring and evaluation.
Mrs. Walker travels to each hospital weekly, and enjoys the connection she gets to create with the team while there.
Abigail Durden, Director of Compliance
Abigail Durden, Director of Compliance
As Director of Compliance, Abigail Durden is in charge of efficiently connecting with clients to be sure their pet’s appointments and follow ups are scheduled.
Mrs. Durden is also head of our Home Delivery service in which she ensures the patients of our hospitals remain on preventatives throughout the year.
With a background in Human Resources, Mrs. Durden provides superb customer service, ensuring client retention and loyalty.
Martha Simmons, Accountant/HR Specialist AVMH
Martha Simmons, Accountant/HR Specialist AVMH
Martha Simons comes to Apollo with a vast background in accounting. She graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. During her career she has worked for small companies to municipalities. Her knowledge and strengths have given her the opportunity to improve multiple business practices within private and public entities.
